Job summary

Telecon is seeking a CDL Equipment Operator in the Tacoma, WA area for a full-time role with competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities include operating equipment, performing pre- and post-trip inspections, logging, and site preparation.

Requirements include a valid CDL with Tanker endorsement, 0–2 years’ experience in construction or landscaping, ability to operate a Mini Excavator, and strong teamwork and safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Driver’s License with Tanker Endorsement required.
• 0–2 years of related experience in the construction or landscaping industry.
• Previous experience operating a Mini Excavator to dig and grade.
• Ability to read location surveys is a definite asset.
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions year‑long.
• Good verbal communication skills and ability to work with others.
• Must be able to safely lift 23 kg (50 lbs.).
• Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Demonstrated commitment to health and safety and willingness to receive applicable health and safety training as required by law and job duties.
• Must be willing to complete an online criminal record check to the company’s satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Transport cargo and/or equipment utilizing various combinations of truck and trailer.
• Complete the driver’s daily pre-trip, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections.
• Complete the driver’s logbook, accident, or incident reports.
• Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle (interior and exterior).
• Operate a Mini Excavator and dig around live utilities.
• Dig holes and trenches, pull cable.
• Operate tools and equipment and support the crew as needed.
• Perform general site preparation and clean-up as directed.
• Load and unload heavy equipment in a secure and damage-free manner.
• Other duties as required.
