Summary/General Description Of Job:

The incumbent is responsible for general grounds maintenance and upkeep of all areas, including the exterior of buildings and roadways.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

1. Performs tasks requiring physical abilities and effort, involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.

2. Typical tasks include loading and unloading trucks; moving supplies and materials with wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacking materials; collecting refuse and salvageable materials.

3. Digging, filling, and tamping earth excavations; leveling ground; shoveling concrete and snow; cleaning culverts and ditches; cutting trees and brush; operating power lawnmowers; gutter and roof cleaning; carpet and vinyl flooring removal.

4. May be assigned as a flagger or fire watch if trained and certified.

5. Moving and arranging heavy materials, furniture, equipment, and appliances; spreading sand and deicer on icy roads and walkways; picking up leaves and trash.

6. Grounds maintenance tasks; may assist in spill response; may require asbestos certification for removal tasks.

7. Performs other related duties as assigned.

8. May perform work in other classifications as needed, which may include wage adjustments.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

**Mandatory:**

• Obtain and maintain explosives certifications if assigned to ordnance operations.

• Meet physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification and clearance.

• Good communication skills for a service environment.

• Valid driver’s license with acceptable record.

• Ability to pass background and drug tests.

• U.S. Citizenship.

**Wages:** $24.41 per hour
