Job summary

Prism Response Llc in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Laborer to support our national construction, demolition, and remediation projects. This full-time role focuses on asbestos, lead, mold, and PCB abatement, interior demolition, and safe use of tools in varying environments.

You'll work in a team, follow safety procedures, and travel to job sites in the Pittsburgh area. Training is provided for those willing to learn a new trade, with strong emphasis on safety and on-site efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must have your own transportation to project sites.

J ob P u r p o s e

Provides abatement and demolition services to various projects involving asbestos, lead, mold, PCB’s, interior demolition, and structural demolition. Must follow specific directions, wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE ), and follow all safety procedures. Must work well in a team environment, perform tasks efficiently, and follow direction s .

Essential Functions

Abates (removes) asbestos, lead, mold, and PCBs in various settings and environments.

Performs interior demolitions of various spaces and demolishes various structures and buildings.

Must be able to work from heights, in confined spaces, in hot environments and under adverse conditions at times.

Must be able to work with various hand tools safely and effectively, powered tools, lifting devices and material movers.

Must be able to travel to job locations in the Pittsburgh Area.

Required Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications and Education

High School education, GED or equivalent (not required)

Experience in the construction, remediation, and/or demolition industry (not required).

Requires considerable time in the field. While outside the office, the employee could be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. Must be able to walk across rugged terrain, climb substantial heights, and work over and on water. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.The position regularly requires work in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The incumbent occasionally lifts heavy objects, walks, and stands for extended periods of time and performs strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls, or carries objects; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue. The position requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. This position occasionally requires long hours, holidays, and weekend work.

Travel as required for project support .
