Job summary

Delphinus Engineering LLC is seeking a general labor associate to support Navy shore facilities, ships, and submarines. Tasks include material handling, basic maintenance assistance, and site housekeeping, under the supervision of a Project Manager.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and basic computer skills, with background check and security badge as needed. Travel to other locations may be required.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, or procedure manuals.
• Reasoning ability to apply common sense to carry out written or oral instructions.
• Basic computer skills to enter data into databases.
• Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certificates and Licenses: able to pass a criminal background check and obtain a security badge.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of general manual labor tasks including lifting and moving materials.
• Assists mechanic in simple repairs on machinery.
• Perform housekeeping to maintain cleanliness of the worksite.
• Delivering materials as required.
• Perform duties as Fire Watch.
• Employees may travel to other locations as needed.

Position Location

Norfolk, VA

Summary

Performs variety of general work on U.S. Navy shore facilities, waterborne vessels, surface ships and/or submarines. Tasks will be assigned by the Project Manager.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

• Performs a variety of general manual labor tasks including, but not limited to, lifting and moving materials, loading and unloading vehicles, surface preparation work, and other activities in helping or assisting mode.
• Assists mechanic in simple repairs on machinery.
• Perform housekeeping efforts to maintain cleanliness of the worksite.
• Delivering materials as required.
• Perform duties as Fire Watch.
• Participates in special projects as required.
• Employees may be required to travel to work to other locations.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to read and understand material safety data sheets (MDS).
• Able to follow safety procedures.

Wage Range

$19.00 - $24.00 hourly
