Job description

Role Overview:

Knife River is seeking hardworking Laborers for projects in Southern Idaho. Responsibilities include cleaning and preparing construction sites, unloading and loading materials, reading plans and specifications, tending machines, and assisting Foremen and other workers on site.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist with manual operations at heavy highway construction sites.
2. Participate in demolitions.
3. Work with underground utilities.
4. Remove trees and debris.
5. Read blueprints and designs.
6. Control traffic.
7. Clear and prepare highway work zones.
8. Dig trenches.
9. Install sewer, water, and storm drainpipes.
10. Pour concrete and/or asphalt onto roads.
11. Operate tools and machines.
12. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

Preference for candidates with 1-2 years' experience as a laborer in heavy highway work, but training will be provided for suitable candidates. Must be dependable, physically capable of manual labor for about 90% of the shift, and possess strength, coordination, endurance, and good communication skills.
