Job description

About the position:

This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the Redbank Golf Course but may occasionally work at the Wrenwoods Golf Course depending on the needs of the facility.

Physical Effort:

Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing more than 50 pounds.

Duties

1. General Maintenance Tasks: Perform a variety of laboring tasks involved with maintenance of the facilities and grounds at the golf course. Tasks require prior experience and involve very heavy physical effort, including assisting in the construction of greens, tees, and fairways, soil grading, and sod laying. Use hand tools such as pry bars, hammers, cutters, pliers, and wrenches for repairs and assisting with complex tasks.
2. Equipment Operation: Operate power mowers (walking or riding type), string trimmers, and other equipment to trim greens, aprons, tees, around trees, fence lines, banks, and hillsides. Maintain sand bunkers, set tee markers and cups, maintain ball washers, and remove debris. Load and unload bulky items, operate loaders and portable pumps.
3. Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment fluids, report issues, perform basic preventative maintenance, and return equipment to designated locations.
4. Work Supervision and Safety: Follow supervisor’s instructions, seek assistance when lifting heavy objects, and use safety devices. Work is monitored for timeliness and compliance.
5. Knowledge and Skills: Operate and control heavy power equipment safely, perform routine maintenance, and adjust equipment as needed.
6. Working Conditions: Work outdoors in all weather conditions and indoors in dusty, drafty, and noisy environments. Mishandling equipment may result in injuries.

Requirements

• Complete a background investigation with favorable results.
• Pass a pre-employment physical.

Qualifications
