Job summary

Loveland Excavating & Paving is seeking a motivated construction laborer for outdoor work in Ohio. You will load and unload supplies, clear sites, shovel dirt and gravel, and assist operators under the project superintendent's direction.

You must have a valid driver's license, be able to lift up to 50 lbs, and follow safety protocols. Benefits include PTO, medical/vision/dental, life insurance, 401(k) with match, and company events.

Qualifications

• 2 years experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform manual physical duties such as loading/unloading supplies, clearing job sites for equipment operators, and shoveling dirt, sand, and gravel.
• Follow the superintendent's instructions on site construction including dirt, asphalt, concrete, and utilities.
• Daily site cleanup and teamwork to meet project budgets.

Requirements

• Perform Manual physical duties required by each project such as loading and unloading supplies, clearing job sites for equipment operators, and shoveling dirt, sand, and gravel.
• Follow the instructions of the project superintendent in all aspects of the site construction including dirt, asphalt, concrete, and utilities.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Use safe work practices to ensure an environment with zero recordable incidents or violations.
• Fueling and Lubricating all Company Equipment daily.
• Daily Site Clean-up
• Serving as a team member and performing other skilled trade activities for selected projects to meet project budgets as needed.

Safety

• Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program.
• Attend daily safety meetings and inspections.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

Working Conditions

• Overtime as required.
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. regularly.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required.
• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Teamwork

• Participate as a vital team member and contribute toward the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
• Promote a team approach and maintain a dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
• Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
