Job summary

Evers & Sons Inc. in Texas is looking for a Laborer to support the crew in completing construction projects. This entry-level role requires basic math, tool handling, and adherence to safety protocols.

The position involves operating hand and power tools, measuring and marking layouts, preparing sites, and assisting skilled trades. A GED or HS diploma and up to 1 year of related experience are acceptable; background check and drug screen are required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate hand and power tools such as air hammers and cement mixers, and assist crew as needed.

  • Prepare sites, dig trenches, and level earth; keep area clean and safe.
  • Identify safety hazards and notify supervisor promptly.
  • Follow company policies and complete required trainings.

Job Opportunity: Laborer


Prequalification's


A GED and/or high school diploma and/or 1 years' experience.


Required Skills/Abilities


  • Must be able to use addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and other basic math skills to accurately complete tasks

  • Must be knowledgeable of basic tools and able to operate basic powers tools such as; cordless drills/drivers, jigsaws, table saws, sanders, grinders, air compressors, tape measures, etc.

This position assists several members of the crew in the completion of various tasks to successfully complete a project.

Responsibilities



  • Operate hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, cement mixers, small mechanical hoists, and a variety of other equipment and instruments

  • Assist other craft workers in doing their job functions

  • Measure, mark, and record openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed

  • Clean and prepare sites, dig trenches, or compact and level earth using picks, shovels, pneumatic tampers, or rakes

  • Notify supervisor and address potential safety hazards in a timely fashion

  • Must keep work area, tools, and equipment clean and in working condition

  • Follow all Company policies and procedures and obtain certifications at Company/Client request, including but not limited to, BBP, Onsite Orientations, First Aid, CPR, Annual OSHA Training, PEC, H2S


Physical Demands and Work Environment:



  • The role requires frequent physical activity, including lifting, bending, and moving in various environmental conditions.

  • Work involves exposure to typical construction site conditions such as dust, noise, and outdoor weather.


Position Type, Travel, and Work Schedule:



  • This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are Monday through Saturday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. Flexibility is required to accommodate project schedules.
