Job summary

Loveland Excavating is seeking a reliable construction laborer to support our outdoor projects in Ohio. You will load and unload supplies, clear sites for equipment operators, and help with dirt, sand, and gravel tasks under supervision.

This role requires a valid driver's license, ability to lift 50 lbs, adherence to safety rules, and a teamwork mindset. We offer a PTO, medical and life insurance, 401(k) with matching and opportunities for advancement.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years experience a plus (heavy equipment or construction preferred).

Responsibilities

• Load and unload supplies on the job site.
• Clear sites for equipment operators and prepare surfaces as needed.
• Shovel dirt, sand, and gravel under supervision.
• Follow the project superintendent's instructions and maintain safety practices.

Requirements

• Perform Manual physical duties required by each project such as loading and unloading supplies, clearing job sites for equipment operators, and shoveling dirt, sand, and gravel.
• Follow the instructions of the project superintendent in all aspects of the site construction including dirt, asphalt, concrete, and utilities.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Use safe work practices to ensure an environment with zero recordable incidents or violations.
• Fueling and Lubricating all Company Equipment daily.
• Daily Site Clean-up
• Serving as a team member and performing other skilled trade activities for selected projects to meet project budgets as needed.

Safety

• Promote, execute, and adhere to the company’s safety program.
• Attend daily safety meetings and inspections.
• Work in a safe, responsible manner to not intentionally or unintentionally injure oneself, or endanger the wellbeing of others.

Working Conditions

• Overtime as required.
• Work is performed in an outdoor setting, which could include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and asphalt.
• Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. regularly.
• Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required.
• Use of sunscreen, long sleeves, and appropriate headgear is recommended.
• Must comply with the company’s drug and alcohol testing requirements.

Teamwork

• Participate as a vital team member and contribute toward the success of the organization, which may involve the provision of other technical and administrative support, as required.
• Promote a team approach and maintain a dialogue with all employees to exchange information and gather ideas.
• Collaborate with any project teams on other special initiatives, as required.
