What you’ll do as a Laborer
- Perform construction tasks including loading, delivery, digging, and operating equipment
- Install underground telecommunications cabling
- Operate construction equipment, and maintain work areas
- Clearly communicate with all team members
- Complete daily production reports
- Help with site restoration efforts
- Hand dig using shovel and/or mechanical tools
- Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies
- Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers; flag traffic when needed
- Perform work in all weather conditions
- Other duties as assigned
What you’ll need
- To be 18 years of age or older
- Authorization to work in the United States for this company
- High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
- Valid state driver's license (not provisional), including an acceptable driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam and obtain a valid medical card
- Previous experience with hand tools and utility trucks is preferred
- May be required to work overtime, after hours, and weekends; may be on-call for emergencies
Physical Requirements
- Climb into and out of equipment (trucks, cars, backhoes, trenchers, etc.)
- Lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance
- Stand, crouch, sit, bend, handle or feel with hands, reach high and low, while on shift
- Work while wearing safety boots, glasses, and a hardhat
- Exposure to dust, fumes, or airborne pathogens
- Remote work may be required, involving long driving and sitting
- Work in adverse weather conditions including extreme heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, sleet, dust, and challenging driving conditions
