At Guy F. Atkinson Construction (Atkinson Construction), many of our valued employees work in the field and are members of various labor unions. As a union contractor, we work on a referral process from local union halls for hiring all craft workers.

All Laborer (Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, and General Foreman) tasks involve physical labor on construction sites; may operate hand and/or power tools; may prepare site and assist with other duties as assigned.

Laborer responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Group 1: Demolition, flagging, general labor, construction, cleanup, or traffic control.
2. Group 2: Chute man or concrete curer.
3. Group 3: Compactor or pipelayer's backup.
4. Group 4: Pipelayer or traffic lane closure (certified).

The Laborer Foreman will supervise, coordinate, and schedule a crew of Laborers.
