Job summary

B&S Site Development is seeking a Laborer to support field operations at our Columbus, OH site. You will clean and prepare sites, assist with scaffolding, move materials, and adhere to safety rules.

This role requires 1–2 years of construction experience, lifting up to 50 pounds, the ability to work in all weather, and a strong work ethic; must be at least 18 years old.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of construction experience.
• GED/high school diploma or related work experience.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to lift and carry heavy equipment/materials up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare construction sites.
• Build and take down scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt, concrete, and dirt.
• Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks manually and with equipment.
• Maintain pace in a fast‑paced environment and work with supervision.
• Follow instructions from supervisors; work independently or in a team.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Be punctual, reliable and a hard worker.
• Direct trucks where to dump, sign in tickets, and track time/load counts; ensure PPE is worn when leaving trucks.

The duties and responsibilities of a laborer are all geared toward maintaining a clean, safe and efficient construction site while also supporting the overall project. The list of duties and responsibilities for a laborer on any given day may include the following:

• Cleaning and preparing construction sites.
• Building and taking down scaffolding and temporary structures.
• Shovel materials to and from construction areas, including asphalt, concrete, and dirt.
• Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations immediately to management.
• Load and unload construction supplies from trucks both manually and with the use of equipment.
• Ability to keep up in a fast‑paced environment.
• Following instructions from supervisors
• Must be able to work individually or within a team
• Ability to work in all weather.
• Must be punctual, reliable and be a hard worker.
• Count truck loads entails: directing trucks where to dump, sign in tickets, keeping track of time and load count, assuring trucks are lowering their bed before leaving jobsite and making sure drivers are wearing their PPE when they get out of trucks.
