DNA Diagnostics Center (DDC), part of Eurofins, is a leader in DNA relationship testing, serving customers worldwide with a broad portfolio of DNA testing services, including paternity, immigration, and pet testing. Our headquarters is in Fairfield, OH, and we are part of a global network of over 800 laboratories.

Opportunity Overview

We are seeking Laboratory Technologists to perform basic laboratory procedures accurately and efficiently, ensuring compliance with protocols and maintaining quality control. The role involves processing samples in the paternity lab, adhering to safety and regulatory standards, and supporting our mission to provide reliable DNA testing services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assess specimen acceptability based on established criteria.
  2. Perform routine and complex technical procedures according to SOPs.
  3. Process biological samples, including DNA extraction, quantification, amplification, and analysis.
  4. Operate laboratory instruments and equipment.
  5. Make technical decisions related to testing and troubleshooting.
  6. Maintain a safe work environment and use appropriate PPE.
  7. Collaborate with team members to optimize workflows.
  8. Ensure compliance with quality system requirements through training and adherence to policies.
  9. Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  10. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Biological Science.
  2. Prior laboratory experience, academic or professional.
  3. Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR.
  4. Ability to interpret procedures and follow complex instructions.
  5. Work efficiently under time constraints in a high-volume setting.
  6. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and integrity.
  7. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and LIMS systems is a plus.
  8. Good communication skills.
  9. Ability to work independently and in a team.
  10. Flexibility to work overtime or shifts as needed.

Physical Requirements

  1. Perform precise repetitive tasks, handle small equipment, and manipulate lab tools.
  2. Excellent vision to read instruments and identify samples.
  3. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  4. Lift and carry up to 15 pounds.
  5. Perform bending, reaching, and twisting motions.
  6. Work in environments with potential chemical and biological exposure following safety protocols.
  7. Wear PPE as required.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 12:30pm-9:00pm
