Job summary

SGS North America Inc. in New Jersey is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine tests on furniture, toys, and juvenile products under supervision.

You will follow SOPs, validate methods, and maintain comprehensive reports while supporting calibration and QA activities. Join a dynamic team focused on quality and safety, with opportunities for professional development and work in a regulated ISO 17025 environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering OR equivalent combination of education and experience (Required)
• 2-5 years working in relevant SBU industrial/lab/field setting with experience following strict safety standards (Preferred)

Responsibilities

• Perform routine laboratory testing following SOPs and methods.
• Validate performance on methods as required.
• Test to applicable standards (ASTM, CSPA, ISO, SSC, etc.).
• Develop, write, review, and validate test methods and SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with local and federal safety processes and procedures.
• May assist in internal support to marketing, sales, customer service and laboratory operations.
• Accurately complete and maintain laboratory reports.
• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly QA/QC checks on equipment.
