Job summary

Charleston Center is seeking a dedicated individual to join the DPH/CLIA Certified Drug Screen Laboratory. The role focuses on collecting witnessed urine specimens for inpatient and outpatient donors, operating the Beckman AU480 Analyzer, and reporting results to staff and outside referrals.

Applicants should have excellent customer service, legible handwriting, and the ability to master specific software and analyzer quality controls to achieve certification. No venipuncture is performed.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree with a year or more of related experience or comparable education/experience.
• Collect witnessed urine specimens for both inpatient and outpatient donors.
• Operate and interpret results from Beckman AU480 Analyzer and report to staff/outside referrals.

Responsibilities

Job description

Charleston Center is a full-service Behavioral Health Agency that treats patients in an outpatient and inpatient setting.

HIRING HOURLY: $19.34 - $20.53

Hours: Early morning and evening shifts. Work Schedule can vary dependent on lab needs.

Continuation of employment in this position is contingent upon availability of funding from services, program and agency earnings.

Responsibilities include:

Charleston Center is currently seeking a motivated individual to join our DPH/CLIA Certified Drug Screen Laboratory.

• This position is responsible for collecting witnessed urine specimens from inpatient and outpatient donors, obtains results by running all specimens through a Beckman AU480 Analyzer, ensures results are reported to staff, and outside referrals.


• Must have excellent customer service skills, legible handwriting, and the ability to master specific computer software and analyzer quality control and calibrations in order to achieve a SEIMENS on the job Analyzer Certification.


• Please note that this position is for collection of drug testing specimens only, there are no venipuncture (blood) collections performed. Previous experience in specimen collection a plus. Requires work within a laboratory fume hood.


• Packages/prepares samples for transport to on and off-site laboratories for further handling/analysis.


• Applicant must have the ability to work with policies and procedures to handle biohazard waste and prepare for weekly pick-up.
