Denver Health is seeking a Laboratory Technician, Surgical Pathology to join our Laboratory Services team in Denver. Under general supervision, you will triage, accession, and process Surgical Pathology specimens, while supporting pathologists and assistants in a fast-paced environment.
You will handle quality control, instrument maintenance, and safety compliance, acting as a liaison with clinical teams. Prior histology/cytology experience is preferred and standard lab safety practices apply.

Under general supervision, the incumbent is responsible for independently triaging, accessioning, and handing off Surgical Pathology specimens. Performs Quality Control and Quality Assurance tasks, maintenance, and helps maintain processing instrumentation for safety and compliance purposes. This position provides support to the Pathologists' Assistants and Pathologists. Handles day to day bench related problems with little supervision. Is a liaison for the department when the Pathologists' Assistants, The Anatomic Pathology Manager, or Pathologist is not available. May be asked to provide backup and support coverage to all other areas of Anatomic Pathology (OMC Surgical Pathology Gross Room, Cytology, Histology, and Decedent Affairs).
High School Diploma or GED Required
1-3 years As a laboratory technician in a hospital/medical or research laboratory. Surgical pathology, histology or cytology laboratory experience preferred. Required
