Job summary

Washington State University’s Washington Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (WADDL) in the Global Animal Health Building-Phase2 is seeking a Laboratory Technician 1 for the Sample Receiving area. The role performs routine procedures, triages and routes samples, enters data into the LIMS, and supports daily lab operations with strong attention to aseptic technique.

The position is full-time, permanent, and requires either an ASCP-approved course for laboratory assistants or two years of related

Qualifications

• Completion of an ASCP-approved course for laboratory assistants or two years of related laboratory experience.
• Training in medical technology or college courses in laboratory sciences may substitute for experience.
• Physical eligibility to work in a BSL-2 environment; ability to rotate holidays; valid driver's license by time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Triage, examine, prepare and route samples for testing.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
• Provide exceptional customer service to WADDL clients and staff.
