Job summary

VMRD, Inc. in Pullman, WA is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to support the Testing Services Lab Technicians and Technologists in daily routine operations. The role involves hands-on lab work, safety, and accurate recordkeeping.

You will follow SOPs, assist with equipment maintenance, prepare reagents, and help with sample handling and basic testing as needed. A high school diploma or GED is required, with biology/chemistry coursework preferred, and prior lab exposure is helpful.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• College level coursework in Biology, Chemistry and Mathematics preferred.
• Previous lab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supports Lab Technicians and Technologists in daily operations.
• Follows SOPs, protocols, and safety procedures.
• Cleans labs and biosafety cabinets.
• Verifies and maintains equipment.
• Restocks lab supplies daily/weekly.
• Handles liquids with pipettes and maintains a sterile environment.
• Maintains electronic records and forms per SOPs.
• May assist in labeling, sample handling and routine testing as needed.
• Trains new personnel if needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
