Job summary

MSD is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Gaithersburg, MD to perform preventative maintenance on lab equipment and handle specimens from receipt to storage. The role requires adherence to GLP/GCLP and SOPs, with strong data entry and safety practices.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree in Biology or related field, or a HS diploma with appropriate regulated-lab experience. Occasional after-hours work may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Biology or related field or HS diploma with related experience.
• Training in BSL-2 techniques is required.
• GLP/GCLP experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance for plate washers and plate readers.
• Handle specimens: receipt, verification, accessioning, aliquoting, and storage.
• Maintain accurate documentation per GLP/GCLP and SOPs.
