Job summary

ECS Group of Companies (ECS) is hiring a Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Technician for our Baltimore team. No prior experience is required as you will learn under supervision while performing basic lab tests on soils and concrete samples.

You will progress through certifications, participate in calibration and QA/QC tasks, and support fieldwork as needed. Training is provided and certification fees are paid by the company, with opportunities for growth within the organization.

Qualifications

• No experience required; paid training provided.
• Certifications obtained through ECS Technician Certification Policy are required for lab work ( soils and concrete).
• Strong communication and basic math skills; careful data recording.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic laboratory tests on construction material samples under supervision.
• Assists with sample preparation and testing procedures.
• Compiles test results, data input, data processing, and other administrative duties.
• Performs soils laboratory testing including Atterberg limits, Gradation analyses, Swell, Moisture, and proctor tests.
• Performs concrete laboratory testing including labeling, curing, temperature logs, and sample breakage.
• Maintains a clean, organized lab environment and supports calibration/maintenance of equipment.
• Maintains calibration records and QA/QC documentation.
• Notifies supervisors of damaged or missing equipment.
• Supports additional lab functions and occasional fieldwork as needed.
