Job summary

Onterris is hiring a Lab Technician I for our Richmond, VA lab. You will assist multiple projects and interact with multidisciplinary staff, regulatory bodies, and clients. The role supports sample handling, data entry in LIMS, and lab operations with a focus on accuracy and safety.

The compensation range is $18.00 to $20.00 per hour, commensurate with experience, skills, and location. Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional overtime.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED with preferred Associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • Some lab experience is preferred but not required.
  • Must pass drug screening.
  • Proficient with computers and database software.
  • Knowledge of general lab practices and safety.
  • Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (oral & written).
  • Able to work independently and make sound decisions.
  • Well organized with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Receive environmental samples into the lab per SOPs.
  • Enter data into LIMS accurately.
  • Label containers and manage storage and forwarding for rush requests.
  • Assist in bottle preparation and sample management/archiving.
  • Assist in field sampling and daily schedule coordination as needed.
  • Support focus teams to improve efficiency and QA programs.

As a Lab Technician I in our Richmond, VA lab ,you’llbe responsible forassistingmultiple projects where you will haveincreasinginteraction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatoryagenciesand clients. You will be part ofa strong teamof committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $18.00 to $20.00 , commensuratewith experience, skills, and geographic location.

Schedule: Monday - Friday with occasional overtime.

To thrive in this role,you’llbe comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPs
  • Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
  • Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
  • Assists in sample bottle preparation
  • Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
  • Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
  • Assists in the coordination of daily field sampling/pickup schedule, if needed
  • Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
  • Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program and Health & Safety Plan
  • Other duties as assigned
