Job summary

Azenta Inc. is hiring a Laboratory Technician I, Sanger in South Plainfield, NJ, with a 6:30pm - 3am EST shift. The role supports Sanger DNA sequencing, gene synthesis, and related genomic services under strict SOPs and safety guidelines.

The ideal candidate has a High School Diploma with 1+ years lab experience and strong attention to detail, teamwork, and communication skills. Training is provided; overtime and alternative shifts may occur.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• AAS Degree or equivalent lab experience preferred.
• 1+ years of lab work experience preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; both verbal and written are essential.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to safety protocols.
• Follow SOPs and trainer directions in training, sample handling and documentation.
• Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
• Sort incoming samples.
• Prepare sequencing templates (preparation, amplification, PCR purification).
• Labware washing and hazardous waste handling/packaging.
• Communicate with customers and other departments by email/phone in a professional manner.
• Assist in purifying sequencing templates and loading samples onto sequencing machines.
• May work with automation platforms; overtime or weekends may be required.
• Alternative shifts with advanced notice.
