Job summary

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s degree in chemistry or relevant experience, along with basic lab techniques and computer skills. Responsibilities include buffer formulation, documenting procedures, and maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• Preference for a background in chemical and/or biological sciences.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of related experience in a GMP/GLP laboratory.
• Experience in government-regulated working environments highly desired.

Overview

The Technician is part of an assembly team responsible for the manufacturing of specific chemistries used in the medical diagnostics field. This role is essential to the healthcare industry and enables doctors and lab technicians to quickly and accurately diagnose patients worldwide.

Responsibilities

• Buffer/Reagent formulation including mixing, adjusting pH, and testing on equipment such as spectrophotometers and Beckman instruments.
• Document step‑by‑step procedures and perform periodic quality checks.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas, including housekeeping activities such as sweeping, mopping, and dusting.
• Calibrate and regularly maintain instrumentation.
• Clean and assemble glassware and components used in processing.
• Use computers for routine tasks, data generation and analysis, time reporting, online training, email, etc.

Qualifications

• Associate’s (AA) degree or basic chemistry laboratory classes; preference for a background in chemical and/or biological sciences.
• Knowledge of basic lab techniques such as pH adjusting and buffer preparation.
• Minimum 6 months to 1 year of related experience in a GMP/GLP laboratory.
• Fluent in English (spoken, written, reading).
• Experience in government‑regulated working environments highly desired.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, Outlook, time‑keeping, etc.).

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
