Job summary

Semex/Boviteq is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Hilmar, California to support IVF, embryo production, and related lab processes. The role reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and emphasizes accuracy, adherence to SOPs, and regulatory compliance.

The technician will perform routine lab procedures, assist in embryo maturation and culture, and maintain meticulous records in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work independently and in a team
• Knowledge of microscopes, pipetting and aseptic techniques is an advantage
• Attention to detail and strong communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Previous agriculture experience is a plus

• Maturation, fertilization, and culture of bovine oocytes
• Freezing, grading, and packaging of embryos for shipment
• Comply with production SOPs, schedules and USDA export regulations

About the Role

We are currently looking for a Laboratory Technician in Hilmar, California to fill a vacancy and join our Team. Reporting to the Laboratory Supervisor, plays a key role in supporting Boviteq USA’s advanced reproductive technologies, including IVF, embryo production, and related laboratory processes. This position is responsible for performing routine and specialized laboratory procedures with a high level of accuracy, consistency, and attention to detail. The technician ensures all work is completed in alignment with established protocols, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Work Location

This is an in-person role requiring 5 days per week in our Hilmar, California Boviteq Blue Box location.
