Job Title: Laboratory Technician - Decatur, IL

This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

Job Summary:

Perform laboratory analysis on in-process and finished product samples to determine conformance to quality and purity specifications. Gather sample retains and communicate with departments via email and Microsoft Teams.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Follow safety and environmental rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to and enforce GMP and HACCP requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, food safety, environmental, GMP policies.
  • Perform lab tests following documented procedures.
  • Exemplify ADM core values: Integrity, Respect, Excellence, Resourcefulness, Teamwork, Responsibility.
  • Maintain prompt attendance and work schedule adherence.
  • Work team-oriented, communicate effectively, identify out-of-spec items, correlate data, work independently on sampling and testing.
  • Conduct physical testing of production samples.
  • Verify lab instruments daily.
  • Record, interpret, and enter test results into computerized systems.
  • Maintain tested product samples for result confirmation.
  • Manage supplies for testing, notify supervisor for reordering.
  • Compare test results with standards to ensure specifications are met.
  • Handle chemicals safely as per SDS guidelines.
  • Communicate product issues with Operations, Merchandisers, and Quality teams.

Job Qualifications:

  • Proficient in English reading, writing, speaking, and basic arithmetic.
  • Ability to communicate professionally.
  • Organized, multi-tasking skills, team player, eager to learn.
  • Regular and punctual attendance.
  • Participate actively in training.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s in applied science preferred.
  • Preferably experienced in analytical laboratories.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and instrument software.
  • Commitment to safety and zero-injury culture.
  • Ability to sit/stand/walk for long periods, work in confined spaces, lift 50 lbs, and handle chemicals safely.
  • Willing to work nights, weekends, holidays.

Salary range: $32,500 - $59,000.
