Job summary

Lactalis American Group Inc. is hiring a Laboratory Technician based in Buffalo, NY.

You will perform routine analytical testing on liquid and solid samples and provide data to the Lab Manager to support R&D, QA, and corporate plants. The role requires an Associates degree in Dairy Science (or equivalent experience) and 2+ years of dairy science or laboratory experience, with strong math and proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred; equivalent experience acceptable.
• 2+ years dairy science experience is favored.
• Must minimally have laboratory experience.
• Solid working knowledge of basic laboratory skills.
• Good mathematical skills are required (calculate averages).
• Food industry knowledge is preferred.
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for reports.

Responsibilities

• Perform all analytical tests to evaluate products in the lab (e.g., fat, moisture, calcium, salt, protein).
• Sample and coordinate outside-lab testing for chemistry and microbiology; present results clearly to Lab/Project Manager.
• Carry out regular cleaning of equipment and lab area; monitor reagents and reorder supplies as needed.
• Work closely with laboratory staff and support GMP and GSP practices in the plant.
