Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine in Allentown, PA, is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to support CLIA waived testing under supervision. You will enter results into the Laboratory Information System, prepare reagents and controls, and assist with specimen handling and documentation.

Responsibilities include prioritizing STAT requests, calibrating equipment, and helping with training of new staff while adhering to SOPs and quality guidelines. A GED and at least two years of clinical lab experience are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with 2 years of clinical lab experience.
• Able to read/write English and communicate effectively with staff and customers.
• Proficiency with LIS or similar lab information systems.
• Familiar with basic QA/QC and process improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Performs CLIA waived laboratory testing under direct supervision and enters results into LIS.
• Prioritizes work to respond to STAT/Emergency requests and follows SOPs.
• Prepares reagents/controls and calibrates pipettes per SOPs.
• Collects/prepares specimens and labels them accurately for testing.
• Maintains supplies, notifies of shortages, and supports training of new staff.
