Job summary

HNL Lab Medicine is seeking a Technical Assistant to support laboratory operations at the Muhlenberg site in Bethlehem. The role involves preparing specimens, performing moderately complex tests under supervision, and recording results in the LIS.

You will assist with quality control and instrument checks as outlined in SOPs. Qualified candidates have at least two years in a clinical setting with data handling experience, and may hold an AS degree or equivalent training.

Qualifications

• Two years in a clinical environment with data processing/specimen handling experience.
• A.S degree preferred or an equivalent demonstration of education and experience.
• Graduate of health/medical assistant or similar training program from an accredited institution where general laboratory technique is taught.
• Must meet CLIA 88 personnel requirements for moderate complexity testing.
• Language ability: able to read and comprehend simple instructions in English.

Responsibilities

• Processes and prepares specimens for transport and analysis.
• Performs moderately complex CLIA-tested procedures under direct supervision of a technologist.
• Enter results into the Laboratory Information System under direct supervision of a technologist.
• Performs basic quality control functions and calibrates equipment as SOPs dictate.
• Assists in training new employees and supports competency reviews.
