Laboratory Technician and Safety Officer

70k-95k DOE

Talentry is looking for an Laboratory Technician / Specialist who can act as the Lab Safety Officer (LSO) for our facility as well. This role will perform environmental health and safety (EH&S) duties as a primary focus. This includes PPE supply / access and MSDS documentation, train on safety and proper usage, maintain service contracts and monitor warrantees, keep up chemical and equipment inventory lists, etc. This candidate will also ensure appropriate documentation, compliance, and proper biohazard and chemical disposal protocols are followed.

This person will maintain a BSL2 level environment in a safe and effective fashion, and have secondary responsibilities handling biological specimens, ensure stock and supply levels, prepare reagents and solutions, ensure appropriate chemical storage and inventory, assist with maintenance and upkeep of laboratory equipment, and assist in the lab (primarily with PCR-based experiments.)

Requirements

BS in Biology, Chemistry, or similar, and 5+ years of experience.

Experience with Biohazard safety in a BSL2 lab environment.

PCR experience.

Excellent communication and documentation experience.

Experience with GLP and FDA regulations.
