Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Information Security Officer to join our

team and ensure the ongoing security of our EHR software systems and patient data.

You’ll be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our information security

programs, handling security incidents, overseeing risk assessments, and ensuring

compliance with HIPAA and other regulatory standards. This position works closely with

cross-functional teams to maintain the integrity and confidentiality of healthcare data.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Information Security Officer (ISO) to help safeguard

our EHR software systems and protect sensitive patient data. You’ll be responsible for

implementing, managing, and monitoring our security policies and practices, working

closely with the IT and development teams to ensure compliance with industry

regulations (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH).

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations Monitoring:

• Monitor network security systems and investigate security incidents.
• Manage firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and
  
  

endpoint security tools.

• Coordinate responses to security events and implement preventive
  
  

measures.

Risk Assessment Compliance:

• Conduct regular security audits and risk assessments of systems and
  
  

networks.

• Assist in compliance efforts for HIPAA, HITECH, and other relevant
  
  

healthcare regulations.

• Ensure security controls are in place to protect sensitive health data in
  
  

EHR systems.

Policy Development Training:

• Help develop and implement internal security policies, procedures, and
  
  

best practices.

• Conduct training sessions for employees on security awareness, data
  
  

handling, and phishing prevention.

• Collaborate with the IT team to integrate security protocols within software
  
  

development.

Incident Management Reporting:

• Assist in the development and execution of incident response plans.
• Track and document security incidents, including breaches, vulnerabilities,
  
  

and remediation actions.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.

3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably in healthcare or SaaS

environments.

Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and other healthcare regulations.

Experience with security tools like firewalls, VPNs, SIEM, encryption, and

vulnerability scanning.

Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, or similar are a plus.
