Purpose of the Job:

This position primarily supports the analytical requirements of all block assets. It may also assist other quality staff members or lab operators when work permits. The main focus is to ensure all finished products, raw materials, and wastes meet specifications. Responsibilities include performing analytical measurements, reviewing operational results, maintaining laboratory supplies, ensuring good housekeeping, managing reagents, and notifying supervisors about chemical needs.

Responsibilities AND Accountabilities

Accountability 1: All Laboratory Technicians

SHE

• Commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety and INEOS' Life-Saving rules.
• Report and address SHE near misses.
• Complete required regulatory and job-specific training timely.
• Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.

Initial Training includes:

• Safety Training, Module 1-5, 7-day checks, instrument issues communication, on-call rotation, second-level lot review, Module 8-11 training, practical lotting demonstration.

Progression to Lab Technician II (after 6 months):

• Update load and peg sheets, manage samples, handle raw material analysis, log chemicals, perform GE off-series testing, forklift training, Dak Paks management, and assist operations.

Similarly, progression to higher technician grades involves demonstrating proficiency in specific modules, analyses, and leadership skills, with minimum time frames specified.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of plant experience preferred.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, SAP, and LIMS.
• Strong analytical skills and knowledge of scientific methods.
• Knowledge of laboratory instruments and techniques listed.

Behavioral Skills

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, communicate effectively, work independently, and manage time efficiently.

Physical and Environmental Conditions

Primarily sedentary work, inside environment, with potential exposure to fumes, dust, and gases.
