Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Laboratory Technician 1 position for the Linus Pauling Institute at Oregon State University ( OSU ). This is a limited duration appointment expected to last approximately until December 2026.
This position sits under OSU’s Division of Research and Innovation within the Linus Pauling Institute https://lpi.oregonstate.edu/
This position will work as part of a research team to prepare for and conduct psychological testing on human volunteers and gather and process the data. The work will primarily focus on preparing and using the tools and media to perform psychological tests. This position will also involve prepping supplies and samples and other miscellaneous laboratory work. This work is primarily for a collaborative research project conducted by the Linus Pauling Institute.
There is an expectation that the incumbent in this role have a capacity to work with a diverse group of individuals and respect all backgrounds, ideas and perspectives.

Key Responsibilities
80% – Prepare for and conduct psychological testing on human participants:
Perform cognitive tests using iPad/virtual tools
Collect and process data via spreadsheet and perform statistics on it.
Collect and store participant samples
Help with miscellaneous laboratory work.
Other duties as assigned
What We Require
One year of experience in a laboratory setting and high school courses in chemistry, biology, mathematics, or any course which included laboratory work; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience. NOTE : An Associate’s degree in Laboratory Science may substitute for the required experience.
