Job summary

Precision Diagnostics in San Diego, CA is seeking a Lab Technician 1 for a full‑time, on‑site role at the California Office.

You will follow SOPs for specimen handling, operate instrumentation, prepare solvents, perform AU screening, validate reagents, and manage batch plates with accurate documentation.

Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and be proficient with Microsoft 365 apps; prior lab experience is preferred, with ability to stand long hours and meet safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; if education completed outside the United States, credential must be evaluated by a NACES member organization.
• Previous lab experience preferred.
• Must meet physical demands: stand most of the day; frequent bending, reaching, and walking; able to work in a lab environment.

Responsibilities

• Follow SOPs for specimen handling, processing, and storage.
• Operate laboratory instrumentation, perform maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Prepare solvents and reagents per SOPs.
• Perform AU analyzer screening tests.
• Validate new AU reagents, calibrators, and QC materials.
• Set up, prepare, and manage batch plates accurately and efficiently.
• Use laboratory information systems and software.
• Complete daily logs and documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain quality, safety, and regulatory compliance; use PPE as required.

What You’ll Do As a Lab Technician

you will support accurate specimen processing, handling, and documentation to help ensure reliable laboratory results.

Key responsibilities include:

• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for specimen handling, processing, and storage.
• Demonstrate proficiency in laboratory instrumentation operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Prepare solvents and reagents in accordance with established SOPs.
• Perform screening testing using the AU analyzer.
• Validate new AU reagents, calibrators, and quality control materials.
• Set up, prepare, and manage batch plates accurately and efficiently.
• Properly utilize laboratory information systems and laboratory software.
• Complete daily logs, records, and documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain quality, accuracy, and compliance with all laboratory, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Use required PPE and laboratory equipment in accordance with safety procedures.

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor's Degree Required. If education was completed outside the United States, the credential must be evaluated by a NACES member organization. Previous lab experience preferred Must be able to meet physical demands of the position, including: Stand for long periods of time. Estimate 90% of time is spent standing and 10% spent sitting. Have frequent need to perform the following physical activities: bend/stoop/squat and reach above shoulders. Frequent standing and walking are required. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks, and Planner.
