Job summary

SCN BestCo is seeking a Laboratory Technician for the 12 Hr. Nights - D shift to perform chemical testing of raw materials, in-process and finished products to ensure safety, efficacy and regulatory compliance.

You will maintain knowledge of processes and products to uphold high-quality standards throughout manufacturing, operate lab equipment (FTIR, spectrophotometer, refractometer, pH meters), and support the team with in-process controls and ordering materials.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in science or related field, or commensurate combination of education, experience, or laboratory coursework.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform chemical testing of raw materials, in-process, and final products.
  • Set up, calibrate, maintain, and operate lab equipment such as FTIR, spectrophotometer, refractometer, and pH meters.
  • Assist other laboratory team members with in-process-controls, sampling, and laboratory functions.
  • Assist with ordering appropriate material and tools for daily operations.
  • Understand and adhere to GMP regulations and SOPs.

Job Summary

The Laboratory Technician performs chemical and instrumental testing of raw materials, stability, in-process and finished products to ensure the safety, efficacy, and compliance of our products. The Laboratory Technician also maintains knowledge of processes and products to maintain our high-quality standards throughout manufacturing.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Perform chemical testing of raw materials, in-process, and final products.
  • Perform pH, wet chemistry titration, brix, moisture analysis, melting point, density, specific gravity testing or other analytical tests as needed.
  • Set up, calibrate, maintain, and operate lab equipment such as Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), spectrophotometer, refractometer, and pH meters.
  • Assist other laboratory team members with in-process-controls, sampling, and laboratory functions.
  • Assist with ordering appropriate material and tools for daily operations.
  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practice regulations as well as all relevant work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Required Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree in science or related field, or commensurate combination of education, experience, or laboratory coursework.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities (KSAs)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, technical, organizational, planning, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in science or related field.
  • Certified training using relevant instruments or techniques.
  • Prior laboratory experience.
