Job summary

TekWissen Group in Midland, TX is seeking a Laboratory Technician for a 7-month temporary assignment onsite. The role delivers safe, efficient PSD to customers, performs QA tests, prepares laboratory reports, and aids in additive selection and fluid design at the wellsite.

  • NEST training (location: Kellyville, OK).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to customers.
  • Identify opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • Perform quality assurance tests on company products and prepare laboratory reports.
  • Provide advanced technical support during additive selection and fluid design.
  • Maintain contact with Client Support Labs and operating locations.
  • Ensure deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Develop competency for advanced additive selection and fluid design.
  • Ensure laboratory equipment is clean, in working condition and waste disposed.
  • Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Perform audits to ensure laboratory standards are met.
  • Assist Design/Technical Engineer and Product Champions with technical support.
  • Participate in safety, quality initiatives and service quality meetings.

Job Description:
  • The Laboratory Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable PSD to customers.
  • The Laboratory Technician identifies opportunities to improve service delivery.
  • This person performs quality assurance tests on company products, prepares laboratory reports prior to service delivery at the wellsite, and provides advanced technical support during additive selection and fluid design.
  • The Laboratory Technician maintains contact with the Client Support Labs and/or operating locations, product centers and the InTouch repository.
  • Ensure job deliverables are accurate and delivered on time.
  • Develop the competency level required to perform advanced additive selection and fluid design.
  • Ensure that laboratory equipment is in clean, working condition and that waste is regularly disposed.
  • Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Perform regular audits to ensure the laboratory operates according to required standards.
  • Assist the Design/Technical Engineer and Product Champions with technical support as required.
  • Perform risk analysis before each task or job to identify and mitigate potential safety or quality concerns.
  • Participate in Service Quality Meetings with customers and improve performance using action plans.
  • Participate in HSE and Quality initiatives.
  • Wear PPE and observe HSE policies.
  • Maintain the required safety training.
Top 3 Skills:
  • Willingness and ability to work 12‑hour shifts including day and night rotations is critical.
  • Prior experience working in a chemical laboratory environment.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (minimum physical requirement).
Experience:
  • Role is open to both trainee candidates new to the oil field and experienced lab technicians.
Education / Training Requirements:
  • Minimum: Associate degree or high school diploma
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree (technical or science-related)
  • NEST training (location: Kellyville, OK).
