Schedule: Monday thru Friday (7:00am to 3:30pm)

Education: High School Diploma Required (2- or 4-year Degree is a plus)

Background: Candidates MUST pass a background Check & Drug Test

IMPORTANT: Candidates must be clean-shaven or have very low facial hair to be fitted for a Respirator.

IMPORTANT: Candidate must have at 2 years' experience working in a Lab.

Job Description:
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Laboratory Technician provides support to the Scientists / Engineers in the R&D process leading to the creation and validation of coating products.
    • Assist in the design of experiments, Preparation and evaluation of coating formulations including primer, basecoat, topcoat and clear coat using mixing equipment and various spray equipment.
    • Accurately running and recording test results for all coatings formulations
    • Analyzes testing to ensure products meet customer demands.
    • Documenting findings and communicating results
    • Handling multiple tasks under strict time constraints
  • Adheres to health, safety and environmental principles and procedures.
    • Maintain appropriate inventory of chemicals and/or supplies necessary for the completion of experiments at work location
    • Inspects and performs routine maintenance on equipment used to conduct experiments at the designated work location
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
    • Safely handle, categorize and dispose of chemicals on a routine basis.
    • Obtains raw materials and supplies from the production area

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma Required, Degree Preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have at least 2-3 years of experience in the chemical industry and experience in coatings is highly preferred.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills to be able to work well in both self-managed and team environment.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Can work independently and pass a color test
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
