Job description

Work Schedule:

60% FTE, night shift. 11:00PM – 7:00AM Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

Pay:

You may be eligible for up to a $1,800 sign-on bonus for a Senior Medical Lab Technician Weekender position or a $2,400 sign-on bonus for a Medical Technologist Weekender position (prorated based on FTE).

Play an essential role in the quality and safety of patient care by providing accurate diagnostic and treatment information.

We are seeking a Senior Medical Lab Technician (MLT) Weekender / Medical Technologist (MT) Weekender – Transfusion Services to:

  • Perform testing in the clinical laboratories (any complexity).
  • Work as an effective team member with good relations with physicians, clinic staff, and co-workers.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, maintenance, and problem resolution.
  • Demonstrate strong decision-making skills, ability to work independently, and take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, or medical technology required, or
  • Bachelor's Degree must include at least 60 semester hours or equivalent, including either: 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses OR 24 semester hours in chemistry, biology, or a combination thereof.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (CLS) preferred.
  • Master's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science (MLS) or related healthcare/science field preferred.
Work Experience
  • 1 year healthcare or lab-related work experience preferred.
Licenses & Certifications
  • Certification in Medical Lab Science, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Blood Banking, Molecular Biology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists or similar agency preferred.
