Job summary

Pride Global is seeking a Testing Technician to support laboratory testing, product development, quality evaluation, and data reporting in a food and beverage environment. The role involves preparing formulations, sampling, testing, and maintaining documentation to ensure high quality results.

The position requires hands‑on laboratory work, accuracy in data management, and collaboration with scientists and partners. This 12‑month contract may convert to a hire, with pay up to $30/hr.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in Food & Beverage; coffee/coffee beverage experience a plus.
• Knowledge of GLP, GMP, and food safety standards.
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and calculations.
• Strong communication, organization, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a hands‑on lab.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and scale benchtop formulations by weighing, measuring, blending, and packaging ingredients.
• Roast coffee and prepare samples per testing protocols.
• Perform powder-material activities: sieving, cleaning, measurements.
• Conduct coffee-processing tests, including moisture and degassing measurements.
• Brew and evaluate samples using commercial brewing equipment and test before/after brewing.
• Label, organize, store, and ship samples, including international shipments when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of samples, shelf-life studies, test results, and lab activities.
• Record, organize, analyze testing data using Excel and other tools.
• Search internal databases, compile information, and generate reports to support testing decisions.
• Identify trends and summarize testing results for management.
• Support training of new employees on testing methods and documentation standards.
• Troubleshoot formulation, brewing, and testing issues and assist root cause analysis.

Pay Rate: Up to $30.00/hr

Position Summary

Seeking a Testing Technician to support laboratory testing, product development, quality evaluation, and data reporting within a food and beverage environment. This hands‑on role will prepare formulations and samples, perform testing, maintain accurate documentation, and analyze test data.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and scale benchtop formulations by accurately weighing, measuring, blending, and packaging ingredients.


• Roast coffee and prepare samples according to established testing protocols.


• Perform powder‑material activities including sieving, equipment cleaning, and measurements.


• Conduct coffee‑processing tests, including moisture and degassing measurements.


• Brew and evaluate samples using commercial brewing equipment and perform pre‑ and post‑brew testing.


• Label, organize, store, and ship samples, including coordinating international shipments when required.


• Maintain accurate records of samples, shelf‑life studies, test results, and laboratory activities.


• Perform basic mathematical calculations for formulation and batch‑size adjustments.


• Prepare samples for scientists and business partners for sensory evaluation.


• Record, organize, filter, and analyze testing and quality data using Excel and other computer tools.


• Search internal databases, compile information, and generate reports to support testing and decision‑making.


• Identify trends and summarize testing results for management.


• Support training of new employees on testing methods, procedures, and documentation standards.


• Troubleshoot formulation, brewing, and testing issues and support root cause analysis and corrective actions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Food Science, Engineering, or a related field.


• Relevant experience in the Food & Beverage industry; coffee/coffee beverage experience is a plus.


• Basic understanding of Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and food safety standards.


• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.


• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including sorting, filtering, calculations, and data analysis.


• Strong communication, organization, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills.


• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work effectively in a hands‑on laboratory environment.


• Professional and collaborative approach when working with scientists, business partners, and team members.

Preferred Experience

• Coffee roasting, brewing, formulation, or beverage testing.


• Food product development or quality testing.


• Laboratory testing and sample management.


• Sensory evaluation and shelf‑life testing.


• Root cause analysis and troubleshooting.


• Experience working with laboratory databases and reporting systems.
