Laboratory Technician

Position Summary:The Laboratory Technician is responsible for performing various laboratory tasks to support production and quality control. This includes conducting analyses and physical tests on samples, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, and maintaining laboratory equipment and cleanliness. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, the ability to work well in a team, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Reports to: QC Manager

Role Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with other lab personnel to complete tasks accurately and on time.
• Perform analyses and physical tests on in-process, finished, cleanout, and check samples.
• Ensure samples are taken and retains are prepared according to customer requirements.
• Release products that meet testing and customer specifications.
• Follow procedures for disposing of laboratory waste.
• Report production unit status in the shift log at the end of each shift.
• Calibrate production unit scales at least once per shift.
• Conduct instrument qualifications, clean-outs, and special analyses as needed.
• Perform water treatment plant duties as instructed.
• Prepare reagent standards, such as 342 water.
• Calibrate lab equipment as assigned.
• Maintain and organize sample retain lockers.
• Perform laboratory housekeeping duties.
• Monitor inventory of consumables and stock work areas.
• Adhere to safety rules and perform tasks responsibly.
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Education:

• Associate’s degree in chemistry or a related technical field, or a high school diploma with 2 years of relevant work experience.

Job Expectations / Working Conditions:
