Qualifications

  • Familiarity with GLP and GMP/documentation practices.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized analytical tests using chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry techniques to evaluate product quality.
  • Prepare samples following standardized protocols for consistency and reliability of results.
  • Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments (GCs, spectrometers) for optimal performance.
  • Document test data with detailed records to support QC and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and QC teams to identify and resolve deviations.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness of the lab, ensuring a safe work environment.
  • Assist in developing and validating new analytical methods as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Overview

The Laboratory Technician plays a critical role in supporting manufacturing processes by conducting precise and accurate chemical and microbiological analyses. This position ensures the quality and safety of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products through rigorous testing and data collection. The technician will operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory equipment, including gas chromatographs and spectrometers, to generate reliable analytical results. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to troubleshoot issues, optimize processes, and maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements. Ultimately, the Laboratory Technician contributes to the continuous improvement of product quality and manufacturing efficiency within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine and specialized analytical tests using chromatography, spectroscopy, and wet chemistry techniques to evaluate product quality.

Prepare samples accurately following standardized protocols to ensure consistency and reliability of test results.

Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as gas chromatographs and spectrometers to guarantee optimal performance.

Document and analyze test data meticulously, maintaining detailed records to support quality control and regulatory compliance.

Collaborate with manufacturing and quality control technicians to identify and resolve product or process deviations.

Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment to ensure a safe workplace.

Assist in the development and validation of new analytical methods and procedures as required.

Required Education and Experience

Associate degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.

Proven experience working in a laboratory environment within the manufacturing industry.

Proficiency in operating laboratory equipment including gas chromatography and spectroscopy instruments.

Strong understanding of analytical testing methods, sample preparation, and wet chemistry techniques.

Familiarity with laboratory safety standards, good laboratory practices and good documentation practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification as a Quality Control Inspector (CQI) or similar credential.

Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as FDA, ISO, or GMP standards.

Hands-on experience with chromatography data systems and laboratory information management systems (LIMS).

Certification as a Laboratory Technician or equivalent professional credential.
