Job summary

System One in Ashland, VA is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine lab tasks, prepare samples, and conduct chemical analyses using standard techniques.

Hours are Monday–Friday 8:30am–5:00pm, onsite. Compensation is $22-$30 per hour, commensurate with experience, with opportunities to record and report data and maintain instruments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related field required.

Job description

Job Title: Laboratory Technician
Location: Ashland, VA - Onsite
Compensation: $22-$30 an hour (commensurate with experience)
Hours: Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:00pm

Responsibilities

• Performs routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices and programs
• Prepares samples using standard techniques
• Performs chemical analysis using standard techniques
• Calculates data
• Records and reports data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
• Performs routine instrument maintenance

Requirements

• Bachelor’s required – chemistry preferred
• Industry experience with metals, ICP, GC, or other instrumentation, or research projects/internships involving metals/GC/instrumentation
• 1-3 years of experience
