Job summary

Goldbelt Apex, LLC is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the Defense Centers for Public Health – Aberdeen. The role emphasizes preparing and analyzing environmental, clinical, and industrial hygiene samples using extraction, digestion, and wet-chemical techniques.

The position requires at least a year of lab experience, the ability to obtain a Public Trust, and knowledge of analytical methods. A strong focus on data quality, reporting, and collaboration with teams is expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate of high school or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of specialized laboratory experience with sample analysis/preparation and SOPs.
• Ability to document records accurately and perform quality control as required.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare environmental, clinical, and industrial hygiene samples for contaminants using extraction, digestion, and wet chemistry.
• Analyze samples with instrumental methods including spectrophotometry and chromatography.
• Conduct literature searches to identify suitable analytical methods and procedures.
• Modify or adapt instrumental techniques as needed.
• Record data, report data-quality issues, and assist with reports, charts, and presentations.

Summary

Goldbelt Apex is seeking a Laboratory Technician to support the mission of the Defense Centers for Public Health - Aberdeen.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:

• Prepare environmental, clinical, and/or industrial hygiene samples for toxic contaminants using extraction, digestion, and wet-chemical techniques
• Analyze samples using instrumental techniques, including spectrophotometric and chromatographic methods
• Conduct literature searches to identify appropriate analytical methods and procedures
• Modify or adapt instrumental techniques and procedures as needed
• Perform calculations, record laboratory data, identify and report data-quality issues, and assist with technical reports, charts, tables, and presentations

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of one year of specialized laboratory experience, including:
  • Performing sample analysis and/or preparation in a laboratory setting following published procedures or SOPs
  • Performing required analytical-method quality control
  • Accurately documenting records associated with laboratory procedures
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust

Preferred Qualifications:

• MLT certification or other relevant laboratory certification
• College-level coursework in chemistry and physics
• Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related scientific field is preferred but not required

Pay and Benefits

The salary for this position is $29.00-$30.75 hr.
