1.0 FTE - Day Shifts - Northwest Clinic

Starting Pay - $20.17 - $25.21 (Based on Experience)

Minimum Qualifications:

• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Computer data entry skills
• Phlebotomy experience/certification
• Previous laboratory experience
• BLS certification within 90 days of hire

Core Competencies:

• Performs phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques according to established protocols and standards.
• Performs waived laboratory testing following protocols and standards.
• Manages patient orders accurately and efficiently.
• Processes and handles specimens according to protocols.
• Applies patient safety standards and management methods in laboratory practice.

Job Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates proficiency in phlebotomy collection techniques, including venipuncture, capillary, arterial, and therapeutic phlebotomy as applicable.
• Prepares patients and collects specimens such as throat cultures and urine samples.
• Performs waived testing in immunology, urinalysis, chemistry, and hematology as applicable.
• Documents patient specimen flow accurately in the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Prepares specimens for dispatch to external labs as needed.
• Maintains a safe work environment, adhering to safety standards and precautions.
• Assists with training new employees.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
