UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is seeking an experienced MLS/MT/MLT professional to lead the clinical laboratory and oversee daily operations in a fast-paced setting. The role includes staff leadership, workflow optimization, and cross-department coordination to ensure accurate and timely test results.

The position requires 3+ years of MLS/MT/MLT experience, a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and strong emphasis on quality, safety, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of MLS, MT, or MLT experience in a clinical laboratory.
• Bachelor’s degree in a chemical, biological, clinical or medical laboratory science, or related field with approved training or equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Direct leadership of technical staff and manage the clinical laboratory's operations.
• Schedule staff and monitor workflow for efficient laboratory operations.
• Serve as liaison with other laboratory departments and hospital services.
• Hire, train, and appraise staff; take corrective action when needed.
• Investigate occurrence reports and compile/resolve related issues.
• Receive specimens, assess priority, and ensure proper identification and handling.
• Coordinate validation of new analyzers and ensure proficiency testing is completed.
• Monitor quality metrics and lead performance improvement activities.
• Perform comprehensive testing with high competency and analytical interpretation.
