Job summary

Lithium Americas Corp. seeks a Laboratory Supervisor for Thacker Pass. You will lead the site analytical laboratory, supervise personnel, manage daily priorities and sample flow, and ensure operations meet procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards.

Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Environmental teams to deliver reliable analytical results. The role reports to the Quality Manager, with occasional travel to other offices or vendor sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry or related technical field; relevant lab experience considered
• Five+ years in mining, mineral processing, chemical manufacturing, or related industrial lab
• Experience supervising or training laboratory personnel
• Working knowledge of QA/QC, data review, and lab documentation
• Familiarity with LIMS and analytical techniques used in mining/chemical environments

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of analytical laboratory personnel and workload planning
• Ensure safe, efficient operation of the lab and sample prep activities
• Coordinate priorities to support timely and accurate analytical results for internal customers
• Maintain QA/QC procedures, standards, blanks, controls and data quality
• Review analytical data for completeness and compliance with methods
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and coordinate repairs
• Maintain lab procedures, records and documentation per Quality Management System
• Train staff on methods, prep, QC requirements and safe work practices
• Support investigations of deviations, nonconforming results, and CAPAs
• Monitor performance metrics and communicate needs to Quality Manager
• Collaborate on method transfer, startup, and continuous improvement
• Lead safety and environmental stewardship in the lab
