Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical science or engineering field (e.g., Metallurgical or Chemical Engineering) or equivalent experience.
• Supervisory experience.
• Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
• Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Office).
• Ability to thrive in a diverse and dynamic work environment.
• Proven problem‑solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards.
• Supervise, train, schedule, and manage the safety of hourly union employees.
• Communicate effectively within a team and with operations.
• Develop and apply analytical methods and test methods (ASTM and others).
• Maintain laboratory equipment and oversee preventive maintenance.
• Participate in internal and external audits (IATF 16949, ISO 17025).
• Create and maintain work instructions for lab procedures.
• Coordinate with operations to provide timely, reliable support for manufacturing.
• Acquire, install, and set up new equipment.
• Manage inventory of laboratory chemicals and equipment spares.
