Description

Supervises and coordinates scheduling and utilization of department laboratories. Provides technical, administrative and logistical instruction and support. Maintains equipment, materials and supply inventories. Controls equipment usage/sharing by other departments; ensures accurate record keeping and procedures are in place. No less than seventy percent of the incumbent's time should be spent in a supervisory or coordinating role. May conduct lab procedures, tests and perform research assistance. Ensures quality control and follow-up procedures are developed and implemented. Collects and analyzes data and prepares a variety of special and recurring analyses and reports. Lab Supervisors shall typically be found in labs where supervision of more than 3 full-time regular staff members would be required. Supervises, trains, and monitors work assignments of lab personnel. May oversee graduate student and postdoctoral fellow day to day activities in a lab. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by reading appropriate publications and communication/interaction with subject matter experts.
Hourly Pay Range: $21.80 – $35.45
Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field and five (5) years of related experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirement.
