Job summary

Dignity Health is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor to oversee our clinical laboratory operations and ensure high-quality services supporting patient care at Northridge Hospital Medical Center.

You will lead a team of lab technologists and technicians, manage daily workflows, schedule staffing, and coordinate with departments to prioritize tests. A CLIA-defined bioscience degree and supervisor experience are required, along with relevant certifications and safety training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biological or chemical sciences, as defined by CLIA requirements.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressive Laboratory Services experience in Medical Technology/Clinical Laboratory Science.
• One year of experience as a supervisor or higher.
• ASCP, NCA, or CLS certification, or equivalent required.
• MTA license required.
• Fire Safety Card required. (Must obtain within 90 days of start date.)

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with other departments, physicians, and nursing staff to prioritize and fulfill laboratory testing requests promptly.
• Maintain inventory levels, order supplies, and oversee equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Implement and maintain laboratory information systems (LIS) to streamline laboratory processes and data management.
• Participate in the development and implementation of new laboratory tests and procedures.
• Serve as a resource for laboratory staff, providing technical expertise and troubleshooting assistance as needed.

Every day, you will manage and supervise the daily operations of the hospital laboratory, including staffing, scheduling, and workflow coordination.

To be successful in this role, you will oversee a team of laboratory technologists and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.
