Responsibilities

Our Festus, MO plant is seeking a Laboratory Supervisor. Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Laboratory Supervisor will:

1. Assign and direct laboratory personnel work.
2. Provide administrative and technical support to laboratory staff.
3. Conduct orientation and training.
4. Set goals, objectives, and evaluate performance.
5. Support the quality assurance program.
6. Review and validate analytical data reported to various departments.
7. Coordinate sample collection.
8. Develop and implement laboratory plans and quality activities.
9. Manage inventory of lab resources and consumables.
10. Complete tasks assigned by the Quality Manager.

Qualifications

1. BA or BS in Chemistry or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience (5+ years in cement or lime industry laboratory work).
2. Ability to supervise, produce timely analytical results, and take corrective actions.
3. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
4. Proficient math skills.
5. Knowledge of chemistry principles, quality assurance, laboratory safety, OSHA/MSHA standards.
6. Basic computer skills.
