Schedule: Full-Time, 0800-1630, Monday to Friday with some flexibility

Role Overview: The Laboratory Supervisor manages aspects of laboratory processes or shifts, including workflow, quality control, procedures, performance improvement, training, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting. The role involves analytical testing of biological specimens, requiring theoretical and practical expertise. The supervisor also participates in customer service, maintains relationships, and ensures compliance with policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare staff schedules and manage workflow
• Oversee quality assessment, problem-solving, and staff performance
• Manage hiring, coaching, and termination processes
• Assist with SOPs and document control
• Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations
• Interpret complex test results and serve as a resource
• Manage instrument maintenance and troubleshooting
• Lead quality control and assurance testing
• Perform pre-analytical and post-analytical activities
• Train and orient new employees and students
• Ensure safety policies and proper handling of hazardous materials
• Manage LIS and participate in Performance Improvement activities

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology
• Minimum three years of clinical laboratory experience
• One year of leadership experience (preferred)
• Florida Clinical Laboratory Supervisor licensure (required)
• National certification (e.g., ASCP, AAB, AMT) or equivalent as per state requirements
